WEBSITE UPDATE

OK - It's true. I can't leave anything alone for long. I found a host for the website and have moved the website (the old one still works but it won't be updated, nor would it ever come up in a search engine. The URL for our new 'official' site is www.eastlakebridgeclub.com.

It has a few more capabilities than the free site hosted by Cox and it's easier to remember! I'm not sure how to get it to come up in a search engine yet (it doesn't now) but I'm sure I'll learn. We picked up a new email address with the website: kathie@eastlakebridgeclub.com

Did anyone try the free learning tutorial from the link I mentioned last week? A little incentive: Whoever downloads and trys the "Learn to Play Bridge" program will get $1.00 off of the next free lesson (just kidding) - $1.00 off Lesson 7. I hope the ACBL has enough bandwidth to handle all of you hitting it all at once :-).

VACATION VACATION VACATION

We look forward to having the Ross family back this week. I hope Justin got all the garbage emptied and the beer cans out of the house in time and that the family had a great trip overseas. We'll be anxious to hear all about it.

This week we will be short several members as Jim is still in Hawaii, Sylvia is off to Tahoe, and Joan has a previous committment for this Wednesday. It's going to be hard finding dummy's as good as them.

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION

This last week we were scheduled to meet at the Woods but the association mixed up the schedule and we ended up meeting at Creekside Clubhouse. I didn't learn of the mixup until after 4 pm so I put up signs and maps at the Woods (and forgot to take them down ugh) and we scrambled a little calling everyone but it all worked fine and was actually a little easier to set up. We almost had a few new members as a few people showed up for the 'retirement' party.

We will be meeting at the Woods Clubhouse for the next week (Jun 11) and Eastlake Greens Clubhouse the last two weeks of the month. Continue to check the calendar on a regular basis in case there are any changes. I will post a map on the website to Creekside Clubhouse in case it happens again.

TAKEOUT DOUBLES

Last week we went over takeout Doubles and Carol floated the table because two heads are better than one. I think everyone learned a lot from it. We played 9 hands which means we are really picking up the game. Check the calendar for what's coming this week.

WORKSHOPS

I will be posting workshop information soon.

Hope to see you all on Wednesday.

Remember: Take all your tricks (and some of theirs).
