I am amazed at how well the group has done and how far we have come in 2 weeks (1 week for some). We have a really nice group and I'm thoroughly enjoying seeing the progress. There's a lot to learn so our goal is to focus on the mechanics of playing and bidding - meaning and strategy will come along as we gain more knowledge.
Wednesday's award for tenacity goes to Joan Locke who despite all odds made it to our lessons. After driving around and going to the more obvious Salt Creek Community Center she finally found our place, only to be locked out! Facing those daunting locked castle-like doors (the place might as well have been surrounded by a moat), she would not be deterred. Joan will definitely be someone to be feared at the bridge table.
The contrarian award goes to Rhonda Ross, another new member. She was the only one to mark 'no' on the info sheet promising to laugh at my really bad jokes and not complain about the food. Did she think I wouldn't notice? I can't wait to trump some of her Aces and Kings
The appreciation award goes to our youngest member Justin and all those that helped carry out chairs and tables after the game.
Hope to see you all on Wednesday.
