We are moving along with our plan to have an evening game available in Eastlake in addition to the day game already underway. The game will be held at the Eastlake Beach Club Pavilion at 2050 Lakeshore Drive in Chula Vista.
Hands are pre-dealt and hand records will be given after the game. Results will be printed after the game and posted on the Eastlake Bridge Club Website along with the individual hands and results for each hand.
STAC GAME WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 22-28
Eastlake Bridge Club will be participating in the SECTIONAL TOURNAMENT AT CLUBS (STAC) sponsored by the ACBL. This is an excellent opportunity to win a lot of masterpoints yet play in a small local field scored across all participating clubs. All masterpoints awarded are silver and sectionally rated. Overall awards are based on the total entry in each event. This game will be held at our Wednesday 11:00 a.m. game at the (click on underlined words for directions) Montevalle Rec Center and the 7:00 pm game at the Eastlake Beach Pavilion.
PRE-GAME LESSON
At 6:30 pm on Wednesdays, there will be a 30 minute lesson on a specific bidding or play stategy. This is included in the game fee ($5.00).
EARLIER START TIME AND DIFFERENT GAME DAY?
I'm looking into the possibility of starting the game earlier at either 10:00 or 10:30 a.m. and changing the day to either Thursday or Tuesday so it doesn't conflict with the Wednesday evening game. If you are planning on attending, could I have some feedback on what day/time would work best for you and if any day or time will NOT work? Click on the 'send' button after filling in your comments.
Please check the Calendar to make sure of the day or time of the game AS IT MAY CHANGE!.
MEMBER ACCOMPLISHMENT (AGAIN *SIGH*)
Two of our members have achieved more great accomplishments.
Fran Wakefield won the USTA (United States Tennis Association) Indoor Doubles Championship for her age category where she became the best in the U.S. receiving a GOLD tennis ball for her title. CONGRATULATIONS FRAN!! (I will be selling her autograph at our next game). Roz King had to play in a younger age category where she duked it out in a gruelling 3 set match and came in 2nd for the silver tennis ball award. In her age category they are all world class tennis players, 3 of them (including Roz) are named to our international cup team (only 4 are named from the U.S.) where they will be sent to the international world championships in Turkey this October. Guess we won't see Roz at our game in October. CONGRATULATIONS ROZ!
Remember: Take all your tricks (and some of theirs).
